"My Family Tree Is Full of Nuts" Kodak Moment

My kids like to climb trees. My husband loves heights and loves to climb rocks, hills, buildings, bridges...you get the picture. But he works a lot, and play time is usually inside involving computers and video games. He's an IT guy.

On this sunny June day in Munroe Falls, a couple of my teenage kids decided to spend some quality time with Dad, climbing a maple tree in our front yard. Dad climbed up first, which made the kids laugh. It was fun. Climbing with the kids was a special treat. He likes to climb, but doesn't do it much anymore. I think he has done this one time since then.

I was just grateful no one broke a limb and consequently, broke a limb.

The first picture captures their faces. It's not every day you get to climb a tree with your dad.

The others just give a little more perspective on how high up they were - they were above our roof, it's hard to tell in these shots. Obviously, they weren't worried at all.

P.S. Mom doesn't climb trees. She takes pictures and tells people not to fall down.

Dawn,

Wow, what a cool picture. you do not climb the trees, but you take excellent pictures, you really do.

I loved climbing trees when I was a kid. I am not sure I could climb anything now...

Cool set of photos of your family.  I am not that good a tree climber but I had a favorite tree as a kid.  Good luck in the contest.

I was never a tree climber but I will do the occasional rock wall with my kids. It's nice to see pictures like this especially given the current weather today.

Jon, thank you! I did a little climbing when I was younger, but a hand on a locust and encounter with a spider or two and I had had enough.

Thanks Maureen! They never like it when I break out the camera!!! But I do!

Dan, I know!!! We have been plowed on our street three or four times today!!

Patricia, I agree, I thought it was so pretty for a simple maple! You know how the IT thing is...always at the computer, just like a blogger!! LOL

Great pictures!  I did "break a limb, and then break a limb" when I was 6 years old....  and... then again when I was 11.  After two broken arms and two weeks in the hospital with the second fall I decided my tree climbing days were over and haven't been up since.

Fortunately your family is more coordinated then I am! :)

Dawn, Cute picture! I use to climb trees but no longer would I tree that.  We had some wonderful tree climbing trees in Kansas but here in Texas we mainly have towering pine trees.  They are not receptive to climbing.

Marchel, I wouldn't think of climbing a pine tree, hello sapfest! I'm glad you liked the picture!
