Help, it's only me, how will I ever get away

Working as a single agent without a "team" can sometimes have it's drawbacks - especially when you're hoping for a little "getaway"  All I can say is "thank goodness for Jennifer!"  She's another experienced agent in our office who covers for me when I'm away.  My getaways have been few and far between over the last several years however this year I will be taking my 2nd trip north to see family and without someone competent to cover my business I'd spend the whole time worrying.

Of course, I have covered for her as well and we have developed a fair workable system of compensation that takes into account the nature of the activities and the amount of work expended by each.  Our communication on this subject is open and flexible and I am very thankful to have someone in my corner while i'm away.  Just a few weeks ago I closed a deal that she had taken around in my absence and prior to that, during her hiatus I showed her buyers around and wrote the contract for that closing.

I highly recommend that if you do not already have someone you trust with your business, find a co-worker who you can speak to and who is of a similar mind and set up some general parameters that you're both comfortable with.  You never know when you'd like to "get away"

Good morning Linda,  Great advice.  And it isn't always just for travel resons - sometimes an unexpected family emergency or health challenge makes it impossible for us to attend to our clients.  Hope your Holiday Season is the best ever !
