The 10 day weather forecast for Fort Wayne has highs only in the 20s. It seems like just yesterday I was sweating my butt of while riding my bike on the River Greenway and walking my dog at nearby Foster Park. Instead I am bundling up, heading to the office and setting up showings for tomorrow.
Here are a few things I like about showing homes in the cold:
1. You can ALMOST ALWAYS tell how well the home is insulated and how the heating works.
2. It means that we are STILL BUSY even as Christmas approaches.
3. I have a LOT of cool sweaters. :)
4. When I am showing buyers homes in 20 degree weather... it means they are SERIOUS!!
5. My remote control car starter and HEATED LEATHER SEATS! Keeps my big butt warm.
6. I love showing homes that are decorated for Christmas. It makes the home feel more like a home.
7. Most sellers ask us to take off our shoes before entering the home. Along with cool sweaters, I have a TON OF COOL SOCKS!
8. Years ago I used to smoke. When its cold outside I can see my breath and it reminds me of my old Marlboros.
9. Christmas cookies!!! A lot of sellers leave us cookies on the counter. YUMM-0!
10. If we find a house we like and want to make an offer... WE DO DONUTS IN THE CUL DE SAC!
