A Holiday Concert at John F. Kennedy Middle School

Home Stager

Tonight we enjoyed a wonderful holiday concert at the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Plantsville, Connecticut.   Under the amazing leadership of the always enthusiastic Mr. Johnson, the 6th and 7th grade band members put on a very impressive show!  Everyone's hard work and dedication really shined through.  santa

The 8th grade band will be performing on Dec. 15th and the orchestra and choral concerts will take place next week on the 20th and 21st.  JFK Cares is sponsoring the first annual toy drive benefiting Children's Christmas Wishes, so please consider bringing a new unwrapped toy to any of the performances.  You just might make a child's holiday wish come true!

This is Day 23 of my Be Thankful Challenge and I'm so grateful that my boys are having such a wonderful experience at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Plantsville, Connecticut.

I hope you consider joining me in my Holiday Season "Be Thankful Challenge" - I've learned that its important to find time in each day to express gratitude (ESPECIALLY on the days when it's really hard to do so) because .... "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."  ~John F. Kennedy

Karen, just having a middle school orcehstra is a great thing, and having parents there means a lot to the kids. I was supposed to meet a client las night and his wife called me during the day to ask for a date change. Dad had forgotten their child's band concert was yesterday and when Dad mentioned that he was meeting with me his son started to cry (No, not because he was meeting with me), because he thought Dad wasn't going to attend.

Your post brings back great memories of band and choir concerts when I was a kid. I wish I still played piano and trombone.
