Never thought about it much. I can see how that would be viewed differently by prospective buyers. I'm sure there is a safety concern as well.

And the prescription drugs.... I have a list of things I ask my sellers to stow away safely. That includes ALL personal paperwork and anything of value, jewelry, small art, anything that somebody can pocket quickly during a crowded Open House. The prescription drugs come from a case where a woman went for weeks to Open Houses and excused herself to the bathroom, raiding the cabinet. She was eventually caught but that is now a main warning I give out and not a lot of people are thinking about that.

Great points Jessica. We encourage our sellers to depersonalize their homes as well. It is so important that the buyers are able to visualize themselves and their belongings in that space, which could potentially be their new home!
