Have you set up your ActiveRain outside Blog?

I just got mine finished and thought it was pretty easy.

I went to My Home and clicked on the customize outside blog link that was in my menu.  You may have to be an ActiveRain Rainmaker or pay for the outside blog if you are not.

This took me to my outside blog in a manner that was easy to follow the customization menus:

# Theme # Customize # Widgets # Info # Domain # Links # Members

Theme, there were many different themes to choose from so I did, done.

Customize, I simply uploaded a digital vertical card that I made in MS Publisher, done.

Widgets, this is where I spent the most time.  This is where you can insert you sidebar image, custom links, searches, contributors, hit routers, and google analytics if you are using it.  Spend some good time setting up this section for driving traffic to your website through searches, your facebook page, and more; done.

Info, Very simple title and description for you to enter here, done.

Domain, you can search for you own personal domain or use one that you might already own.  I used mine at www.propertysolutionsproviders.com, it was very simple.  I just went to godaddy and point my nameservers to the ones that activerian provides by clicking the "how does this work" link.

Links, this is where I set up links to my other websites or predetermined searches.  Copy and paste the url and title into the boxes and your are (you guessed it) done.

If you want to invite other active rain users to contribute to your blog, then you can invite them under the members menu.

I tried your link, but it doesn't seem to be working.  Please post your outside blog link so we can take a look at it.

I might have to consider doing one of those. It is nice to know that it is not too complicated to do

It says it takes a little while for the custom domains to get set up correctly, so if that link is not working yet you can use this one.

Devin, it didn't take much time; just put it on the schedule.

Thanks, Doug.  Now to put it to work.

Easy to set up and you get a domain name to boot.  It's worth setting up.  Here's a link to mine- threw it together quickly.  http://lifestylesarasota.com/

Very nice Dan!  I do need to start blogging and it looks like I could learn a little from your outside blog.  I actually went to school just north of you in St. Pete at Eckerd College.  Plan on being back there next fall.

It all works now!  Event the custom URL.  Used a listing as my first blog and used epropertysites to set up the property website.
