Niche Websites, Integrated IDX & Blogs Make a Winning Search Engine Recipe

Services for Real Estate Pros with

I’ve recently written about the all-in-one solutions for website success that are provided by There are a number of ingredients and services in this all-in-one approach, and all are necessary for online marketing success.

Believe it or not, there are several places on the web where you can find meal recipes with three ingredients or less. These are simple, as the ingredient list is small, and most turn out a really tasty dish. One of these is Crockpot Turkey, calling only for the turkey, some cranberry sauce, and dry onion soup mix. We can see that the body of the recipe is the turkey, and that the other two ingredients provide a tangy face-off of sweet versus the onion flavor.

What would the dish be like if we left out one of the ingredients? Of course, without the turkey, we’d have a soupy mixture with nobody for hunger satisfaction. And, cutting out either of the other two ingredients would result in either a too-sweet or a more bitter onion flavor. Simple as the recipe is, it takes all three to work.

Getting good rankings on the search engines is pretty much a three ingredient recipe as well. The body of course is the niche website, as it’s where we bring it all together for results. However, just throwing up a website will be a complete failure as a recipe for search engine success. Two other ingredients are critical, an integrated IDX search, and a blog. These are the three ingredients that have time and again been combined by real estate professionals for first page search engine positioning for search phrases that bring them business. Let’s look at a real-world example to see how this recipe is prepared:

1. Niche Real Estate Websites - Create multiple custom pages on your website that focuses on a niche and keyword phrases that are likely to be searched on Google and other search engines. In this case, we’ll create a page all about “ThisTown 2 BR waterfront homes”. There will be relevant information on this page that talks exclusively about our topic of “ThisTown 2 BR waterfront homes”. There may be a map with popular waterfront neighborhoods. There will be a lot of text about these neighborhoods, how the residents enjoy their waterfront homes, what they cost, and some market statistics and history. The keyword phrase will be worked into the content of the page at the beginning, the end, in the title and several times in the text.

2. Integrated IDX - Now using RealtySoft’s indexable IDX solution, you will create some listing result pages for these 2 BR waterfront homes. These listing result pages will be the very nature of the search, contain our search criteria (City = Chicago, Type = Residential, Bedrooms = 2) and keyword (Waterfront) that web searchers would use to find “thistown 2 BR waterfront homes”. Then we just integrate these search result pages into the page we created. This creates highly relevant content and links between content on the same topic and with the same keywords.

3. Blog - Now there’s just one more ingredient, but it rounds out the recipe and makes our search engine dish a success. Blog about the same topic, and using “thistown 2 BR waterfront homes” in the title and throughout the text of the blog post. Link this keyword once or twice to the custom page that was created in step 1.

These three ingredients requires a certain sequence of events and methods, again important in any recipe. Once we combine them properly, this site will be working its way up in the search engines for the key phrase.

Great post! I will save it to finish it later, but the premise sounds really good. Your Turkey recipe gave me a great idea for dinner. I am going to pressure cook a hunk o' beef and now will add some french onion soup mix.

I am in works with 220 marketing and this sounds very similar, this is a great idea in this market. Have you thought about doing this same idea for loan officers or lender to allow their agents to post on one website for exposure? If you already do this let me know what sort of price this costs.
