When I look back on the past year a lot of things come to mind but few of them are as special as one of my best friends wedding. The picture above is a sampling of how that memory stands out. Three of the men in this photo are either active or inactive service men and are friends of mine that I a deep respect for due to their selfless willingness to serve our country. Another one of my friends has moved out of town for college and as such we don't get to see him as much as we'd like and the rest of us, well we see each other plenty. The fact that we had all of our good friends together in one place for this picture is what makes this such a memorable picture.
The black suits are all in honor of my friend Wes's wedding and as his groomsmen we all received a pair of black Vans slip-on shoes. This is a perfect symbol of Wes's attitude towards life, driven and put together but still keeping it comfortable. As you can tell all of "The Boys" are strolling through downtown Morgan Hill, CA and taking advantage of the opportunity to catch up before the best wedding I have ever seen or been a part of.
Nearly 3 months later we all still laugh about the weekend that we discovered that the shoes that Wes gave us make amazing dance shoes and the bride and groom are doing great. When I think of Kodak Memories I think about the fact that a picture is not just one particular memory but a series of them and this picture definitely proves that. This is just the beginning of a great day and an even greater journey for Wes and for all of us as friends. I can also say this for the above picture; every time I slip those black shoes on I think of where they came from and the images like this that make them special.
Oh and the sign above us cracked me up, there are always bumps ahead!
