A bit a go I wrote about a new Restaurant that opened in the Pinehurst area and today I got a call from someone who initially thought I was the restaurant - so people do find us here on AR.

One made me think of writing about this was a blog post today by a Fayetteville area Realtor Melissa Mckinny and her funny story of how she found out someone had been reading her blogs.

Some may say that blogging doesn't work, at least we have confirmation that are blogs are being read, and eventually this Pinehurst area Realtor may have someone reading my happenings and have me in mind for their next real estate professional.

Dawn, it happens all the time, doesn't it?  I actually like getting those calls because I know my posts are being found and read!

Dawn, it's all about being the "area" expert - that call wasn't "the" one for real estate, but it does show your hard work is being noticed!!!

I calls like that a lot. That's because people don't really read our blogs in their entirety, especially if they're searching for something that is non-real estate related. The see the name of a restaurant, movie theater or park office, and a phone number, so they call. It's generally good for a chuckle, if nothing else. Be glad you're not me and ranking high in Google for "cash for keys." I get calls from all over the country about that one: are you the cash for keys lady?

Dawn, it is surprising how many people I've met because of my hyper-local posts and yes I've actually had people ask if I was in the restaurant business based on my assorted posts about food around Austin. I always tell them I like eating and cooking but still sell real estate!

Silvia, I like getting those calls as well. Shows the power of the relationship with Google and Active Rain.

You are so right, Juli. My goal is to become the person to go to for local information. I am not quite there yet as I am putting together my plan for the New Year. I am looking forward to and I am optimistic this will work in the New Year. 

Elizabeth, this caller actually admitted that he did not read the entire blog. I can imagine what might be in the minds of your readers for "Cash for Keys".

I like eating, but not so much cooking any more, Russell. If I'm ever in Austin, which I would like to visit someday, I will get your advise as to where to go.
