Today I feel like I have won the Kodak $220 extra saving contest.................

This is so ironic!  When I entered the Kodak contest I will buy extra nice Christmas gifts for the domestic abused moms and children in Crittenden County Ar if I have $220 in savings  I am hoping maybe I am lucky enough to win that $220.  Of course, by now, I know I didn't.  I think Joni Staples did, I still have not found her winning post.  It must be a terrific story!

Anyway, other than not winning the $220, I have a very poor turn out this year.  I don't have anyone initiated to do anything this year.  Some may be related to economy, some just..............well, just leave it like that.  Fortunately, I have a friend and her family is willing to take care of 1 family, I take care of 1 myself, then a few more people from my office and a couple of other friends are wrapping up the last family.

Today, I am supposed to pick up a gift card from my friend to give to one of the moms of the needed family.  I got $200 from my friend instead!  She told me to go ahead to buy what I need for them.  I am just speechless!  I gave her a big hug.  She was one of my biggest donors last year, she is doing it again this year.  She told me it just hurts her to see the Christmas list that I sent to her, because all the things they need are just basic stuffs that many of us take for granted.  We don't know how fortunate we are till we don't have them.  If we can help, just anything, we should.  Spending extra $10 to $20 for someone in need is really doable.

I am just very grateful to have these great people around me.  They just warm my heart, and most important, they warm these families heart, so they can have a decent Christmas.

I hope you will reach out and help someone out there who indeed needs some generosity from someone like you!

Have a Merry Christmas!

You never know where or when.  My wife is one of those people and she also drags me into it.  although, she doesn't have to drag to hard.

Well done Rita, I'm glad you are able to help more families than you originally thought. Giving to those less fortunate helps in so many ways and the appreciation is far reaching, even if it's in your own community!

Rita, that's wonderful that you are able to help some needy families over the holidays.  Every year our office also supports a family and we all donate items or money for their wish list.  And again some of the items are very basic necessities.

Jenny, we are just fortunate to be able to help those in need.  Many people take things for granted and it is sad to see some of them who can easily help but choose not to.
