Lights in the Valley (Livermore)One of our favorite family traditions is to visit the many homes in our city that had been singled out for fabulous Christmas lights and decorations.  After the family party on Christmas Eve, we’d pile into the car, and drive from house to house and be delighted and dazzled.  There are some traditional displays, and some truly imaginative set-ups worth a special visit. Lights of the Valley will help you find spectacular Christmas scenes to enjoy in your area.

It’s just not Christmas without a trip to Deacon Dave’s, now in it’s 27th year where volunterrs volunteers help set up the amazing theme display, featuring over 325,000 lights! The decorations aren’t limited to outdoors – there are 44 Christmas trees inside the home, many visible to visitors as they wind their way through the fabulous scenery. If you look closely, you may spot some of the live doves, part of the celebration each year.  But don’t stop there – check out other amazing holiday light shows in Livermore.

And of course, front and center in the Deacon’s home is the oversized Nativity Scene, reminding us of the reason for the season. Christmas display opened, Fri Dec 6 and will be open every night at 6 pm, with the last night as New Year’s Day.  Don’t miss seeing this fabulous display at 352 Hillcrest Avenue in Livermore, CA and be dazzled!

Dress warm, be safe and have fun.  Happy Holidays!

Karen- I love the season and still need to get out and see the sights in my town.  I've been so hurried this year.  My daddy's had two surgeries in December and time is slipping away from me.

I love the holiday lights, but haven't really seen too many this year.  I need to get out scout some good neighborhoods!  Happy holidays!  Kathy

Karen- we love looking at all of the lights too.  Even though it's warm here, we still take a thermos of hot chocolate with us.  Can't wait.

Ummmm.  As long as I have a designated driver, I'm thinking hot chocolate with Bailey's sounds pretty good ;)

I have always loved the holiday lights.  I also absolutely love the smell of a pine tree in my home.  These are the sights and smells of a wonderful season.  Thank you for sharing yours.

Pine tree scent sounds wonderful Larry. We gave up the real tree a long time ago, for various reasons.

Jane G - I don't think they're all full size, but even so.....

Jane - it's raining here too, but not too bad today. The wind is the worse part. It's really dark though. We finally turned the tree on early, just to brighten things up.
