Spot #13 - "Ethics of a REALTOR"

"On the air"

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A real estate "agent" AND A REALTOR?

You bet there is!!!

Only someone who has met all requirements for membership in the National Association of Realtors and who subscrives to its Code of Ethics has the right to call himself a REALTOR, a designation that enjoys legal protection under the United State Copyright laws as a registered trademark!

A REALTOR is held to the highest standards of professional ethics that include transparent honesty and full disclosure of relevant facts with all parties involved in a transaction.

SAY

For example, that a seller asks his REALTOR to conceal a known defect, like a roof leak, from prospective buyers or other agents.  Not only must a REALTOR refuse to comply; if appropriate, he will terminate his business relationship with that client.

As a REALTOR, I've pledged to keep at least 17 specific promises for the benefit of my clients.
