Have a Working Budget, in Place, for 2011

While you are planning your goals for 2011, remember to plan out your working budget.  Your business needs to know where it's going and when it will get there.  By planning out the cost of your business, you can control what happens for the year.

Here are some categories to get you started.

Commissions (RE Sales)

Marketing

Advertising

Office Supplies

Auto Expenses, Mileage, Gas, Parking, etc.

Dues & Subscriptions

Professional Fees

Electric & Power Charges

Fax charges

Telephone

Lead Acqusition Expenes Category

Education

Entertainment & Meals

Internet Fees

Set this up for the first six months of the year.  That way, you will be able to view your month to month progress.

Jenny, Yes, so true.  By taking a six month snapshot, it will keep you ontrack and understanding, just where your monies are going.

Frances, this task is a lot easier for a Loan Officer than it is for a Broker like yourself, or even a Realtor.  I'm sure glad that I don't have anywhere as much as you to plan for.
