Crusin' the lanes in the rain.
MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER, MAKE ME A MATCH!!
Alan recongizes the value of the real estate referral, as does Karen Fiddler.
This thread, Karen's post, my response to her post and post about her post and now Alan, who neatly pulled everything together, demonstrates the power of THINKING OUTSIDE OF THE BOX!
TRY IT, YOU JUST MIGHT LIKE IT.
Indeed, we do cruise ActiveRain and, when we least expect it, will have one of those EUREKA MOMENTS!
Shucks. If the famous "two heads are better than one." has any validity, the smart thing to do is to harness the power of 197,937 heads herein. I recognized an opportunity for Karen when I read her blog. Rather than taking offense, she picked up the ball and ran with it. I think we have a home run.
Referee Alan says so.

Lenn Harley suggests that you "build your network, one contact at a time. Build it with quality agents, both seasoned and non... you'll identify good partners as you go... real estate talent is all around us. Pick and choose, but choose carefully.
yeah, yeah, yeah, Lenn.
Preaching to the choir. And Lenn is basing her post on a post from Karen Fiddler, who posted about a mature agent who was having difficulty keeping up with technology, she suggests that his experience would be a perfect complement to a modern tech-agent... make him a partner. If the personalities mesh, a great idea.
It's not that I disagree with Lenn, I don't. (I hate when I find myself on the opposite side of a point from Lenn. Cause she's always right, and that would mean that I'm slightly left of right, and I hate that) She's absolutely right, but isn't that just what we're already doing, here on Active Rain?
We cruise Rain Drive, and meet other agents. We rub elbows and decide whose particular style of wisdom (or lack thereof) clicks nicely with our own philosophy. We're crusing up and down the magnificent mile in our 1959 thunderbirds, our 1961 corvettes, and a couple of studebaker skylarks! (look 'em up) Let's follow this.... Lenn likes Karen... she thinks Karen's got a good head on her shoulders, has good things to say, and gets her point across well. So she brings some of Karen's input to her own blog.
While I also read Karen, and commented on that particular post, it didn't quite hit me 'till Lenn brought it back as leftovers. I, as do others, think Lenn's got a lot of real estate wisdom to share, gets her point across well, and damn, if she doesn't wield a mean shotgun! So, here I am bringing Lenn's (and Karen's viewpoints) to my own readers.
Ain't that a bit like 3-minute-dating for Realtors? Hmmmm... Hmmmmm?
