Paying it forward ~ Sending Christmas Cards
One idea I had for paying it forward, that I finally did, sending cards to the local nursing home. I often wonder how many residents there are who have no visitors or mail?
I love to send cards, especially handmade cards, to friends, family & clients. Who doesn’t like getting mail that’s not a bill or junk mail? Why not send them as “Random Acts of Kindness”? When I was a child we called them, “because” gifts and cards, which stood for “just because I love you or thought of you, I’m sending a card or small gift. Mom used to belong to a secret pals group at church, they would send cards on a regular basis with the signature “Secret Pal” and that’s how I signed my cards to the nursing home.
I also sent a few to “A Recovering American Soldier” c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center. You can too, here is the address: 6900 Georgia Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20307-5001 You can also look up the address to the nursing home near you.
Maybe my cards will make a difference, however small.
What other places can we send cards and make a difference?
