But.....I Don't HAVE An Infinity Pool!!! :( Sunny California? Not This Week

I don't have an Infinity Pool.....you know, those beautiful azure blue pools which look like they just merge into the ocean beyond? Yep....not me!

I have a basic backyard pool! And it's filled to the brim.

Now, I happen to know that when the pool over-flows, the water does drain down the side of the house. HOW do I know this? (cough, cough) well turns out that if you don't watch the water rise when you fill the pool....you might leave to go shopping and leave it on.....I hear. Oops!

But this time....not my fault! It's just raining, and raining, and raining. Like the old El Nino Days....and even as I'm heading out to get a few sandbags (just to be safe) as a true Californian......I still can't begrudge the rain. I hear we need it.

Home is where the hearth is.

pretty soon, you could find yourself with an infinity basement.

We definitely need the rain....too bad it has to come all at once.  I've had to put off a couple of my showings intil the New Year in Newport Coast because of it.  When clients are looking to purchase a home with a view...can't exactly give them the full effect when they can't step out on the balcony and take it all in.

But in Cali...the one thing for sure is that we will have sunny days again soon enough.  Merry Christmas to you!

Karen, You mean everyone in California doesn't have infinity pools? ;) Lifestyles of the rich and famous...   How much does an infinity pool cost out of curiosity?  I would say it's mucho grande..

Ah Alan....we don't have basements out here...no tornados! Just earthquakes and well, a big empty space under the house seems like a bad idea.

Not sure how much the pool would cost...not that much more since they still need a retaining wall, but you do need the right lot for it....or it's just not the same effect.

Karen - I remeber rainy weeks like that when I was in high school and lived in the La Crescenta Hills, everything flowed down and flooded the people below. Stay dry and enjoy the rain.

Karen - enough of that water sliding down the side of the house and you WILL have a basement.

So that's what those pools are called.  Infinity pools.  I'm a boring east coaster. Never heard the term before, but have seen the pics.

I hear we only need the snow layer.  Let it snow in the mountains.  You can keep all this rain.

I thought this was supposed to be a La Nina year which used to mean less rain. I guess not.

Oh it's bad.....my pool has overflowed and is nicely draining. Trees have fallen, but not on my property. Laguna Beach is closed and a mess. Good thing I have coffee and treats. Not going anywhere.
