Alyssa SkyeThis year, let us all give thanks for the blessings that we have each and everyday.  Sometimes we forget about the little things that make our life so easy, like Family.

I lost a very good friend, Alyssa Skye, about two weeks ago in a tragic car accident.  She was a single mom who leaves behind three children. Alyssa was very active in the Gehringer PTA, Rock Climbing, Running and Search and Rescue.  Alyssa was a woman of great courage and would be the first to volunteer for anything that needed to be done, whether around the school or elsewhere. Alyssa Skye

I can't even begin to imagine how the children's lives have been upturned with the recent loss of their mom.  I wonder if Christmas will ever be the same to them again? I lost my own mother a year ago, and that was one of the hardest moments in my life.  To loose your mom at such a young age as these children, I can't begin to fathom what they may be feeling.

The tragedy reminds me again, of how precious life is.  Let us not waste time on being angry at friends and family for little things.  Let us be slow to anger and quick to listen.  Let us make each day count.  You can make a difference in someone's life.

Alyssa SkyWe have established a Memorial Fund for Alyssa's children.  The money will be used to various items including Christmas presents and schooling.  You may send your check made payable to Fremont Bank, Attn: Alison Narasaki, 1735 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek, CA  94596.  Be sure to put this Account Number (162 003 032) on the memo section of your check or her family will not receive the funds.  Any amount is greatly appreciated!

May you blessed this Christmas Season!
