The December Challenges . . . Keeping the Christmas Spirit and Working to Maintain The Business

A slightly different note tonight. There's a very special cul-de-sac in Wolcott CT called Frisbie Circle, where all the residents have gotten together to make theirs a very special Christmas Street. It's  not unusual for people to put up outside lighting displays as an expression for the Holidays.

The residents of Frisbie Circle in Wolcott CThave taken it a bit further. The invite all to come down the street to enjoy the outside lighting displays, but in turn they are seeking non perishable food donations that will go to the Food Bank in town.

Frisbie Circle is in the Southeast corner of Wolcott CT, off of Todd RD just before the intersection of Woodtick Rd. It is directly opposite the ball fields at Frisbie School.

All of the residents have donation containers set up along the road way to receive your donations.

Residents come out to collect the donations on a regular basis so there is little chance of freezing.

♫  Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star
upon the highest bough.
And have yourself
A merry little Christmas now. ♫

Day 23

Had to run some errands today, but I also had my pocket full of new business cards. Went to get a haircut, and I always leave a supply of cards there. I also passed some out to a few people waiting and one expressed an interest in the free market analysis I offer on the back of my card.

Ed, this people really get into the season.   There are a few houses on Sand Hill Road here in Middletown that have done the same thing.  I drove by there the other night and took some pictures, I need to put some time a side to post them, maybe Christmas Day.

Beautiful lights - I don't know of a neighborhood doing this in our area but I do know a few homeowners who do so. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, I've seen some pretty impressive homes on AR this week.  We sold one of our houses to a guy who goes nuts at Christmas.  He bought it because it had 200 amp service lol.  Who knew that would be a great selling feature.

I better hurry here.  Think they are drawing the curtains at midnight for maintenance.  I have 6 minutes to comment.  Have a great Christmas.

The nice thing about the lights, they look good with or without snow.  As a Christmas Eve, tradition we will drive around the neighbourhoods for and hour or two tonight and take in the sights of all the hard work of those that have taken the time to celebrate the Holiday Season by lighting up their homes.

My you and your family have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  May all your wishes come true.

George, about a week ago there was an article in the local paper about them. They do this each year, and this year their donations were running real slow and well behind last year and they were going to turn off the lights. I showed the article to my wife and she went over with her Daughter and Raphael, and a bag full of goodies. I went separately with goodies as well. The article kick started their drive,As I was taking these shots one of the homeowners came out of his house, with a push cart to walk the street and pick up the donations.

Joyce, the photos obviously do not do the lights justice. Thanks for stopping

Jenny, thanks for stopping with so little time to spend.

Hi Al & Peggy, these few weeks have been crammed with everything I have going right now. It will settle down a bit next week, when all is cleaned out. Merry Christmas to you two, and thanks for the card

Ed-  Sounds like a great street - we have one similar here, but I never looked to see if they were collecting donations....

Dagny, it's more than a ,matter of pride, it's a commitment to caring. Everyone knows that people are having a tough time, these neighbors are helping neighbors. Merry Christmas

Andrea, it is a bright street, no question about it, literally a beacon of hope. Merry Christmas

Ed, the lights on Frisbee Circle are a sight to behold, as my family has been viewing them for years.

I like the idea of offering a free home evaluation on the back of the business cards. I'll have that done on my next batch of cards I order, so thanks for the tip.
