Jupiter Island is a little piece of paradise. Located on the eastern side of the Intracoastal Waterway across from Tequesta, this barrier island has been the closely guarded secret of some of America's old money families.
I was on Jupiter Island today shooting video since the day was a glorious, South Florida winter day and if you have never seen this place take minute to view my You Tube videos. On a day like today, Jupiter Island is absolutely magical! The temperature was in the low 70's, the air was crystalline clear, the ocean was the most gorgeous blue/green (really Miami Dolphins teal) and sparkling in the sun and the warm breeze was coming off the water from the southeast.
Although Jupiter Island is known for it's mansions, there are condos on the south end of the Island. Recently, I was talking to a real estate agent who sells Jupiter Island condos and he told me Elin Norgren (or more affectionately Ex-Mrs. Tiger Woods) had looked the penthouse of one of the oceanfront buildings.
So it is just a hop, skip and a jump up the Island where the kids can hit golf balls in daddy's back yard. If you haven't seen his house from the air, there are pictures of it all over the Internet. And it got me thinking about celebrities in this area.
Jasper Parnevik, who introduced the ill-fated couple, moved out of Admirals Cove and up on the Intracoastal almost due west of Tiger Woods compound only about a driver and three wood across the ICW. He is sandwiched between Alan Jackson's little house on US One and Burt Reynolds' waterfront home next to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Although Reynolds, Jupiter's most famous son, has been trying to sell his three acre home for years and has dropped the price from $ 15 million to around $ 8 million, he hasn't found a buyer. All three, Jackson, Parnevik and Reynolds live along the Intracoastal though Jackson is moving over to "The Island" where he has built a new mansion and has his little home on the mainland on the market.
So should Elin pick up a little condo pied-a-terre, all of the original players in this domestic drama will still live only a couple of miles apart. If things get a little heated at the Woods mansion up on the Island, Elin can always take Sam and Charlie down to Coral Cove Park to burn off some calories since there is a playground for the little heirs. It sure beats smashing in Tigers car windows.
