Share The Passion to "Recycle, Reduce, Reuse"

Do you want to make this the year to GO GREEN and share the passion to help clean up the environment?

Taking small steps in our individual lives can make a difference in the world and the resources we are using up.

The concept of "Pay It Forward" can be an all inclusive term when sharing things that are good and can help others.  As we share with one another we are paying it forward in many aspects of our daily lives.

Each year as I clean up the Christmas decorations and gather up the cards I take time to cut off the written area  and create post cards with the clean section which is usually the top with the graphic on the other side.

The Re-purposing of the Christmas card begins at that point.   A Thank you note can be written on the left side of the post card with the address on the right side with the stamp.

Attach a label on the top left hand side of the card which says:

" This card has been Re-purposed!                                                                                                                  In 2011 we are trying to enhance our Recycle, Reduce and Reuse awareness!                                          We invite your to join us in taking global issues local doing what we can to make the world a better place!    Pay this idea forward to your friends and family!                                                                                        Together we CAN make a difference!"

Watch the video and see if this is something you might want to share!

Let's make 2011 the year to become aware of all the different ways we can Re-purpose, Recycle, Reduce and Reuse.

Ginny ~  You are so right.. we have a lot of fun AND learning at AR!  Thank you!

Ed ~  I understand and used to be the same way... Now I make a list of who sent the cards.. get rid of the envelopes.. and make the Christmas Cards into thank you notes.. and now.. someone on another feed said to use the post cards next year as the Christmas cards!  So it's all about how we look at the paper and what it means :)

Lottie ~  Your mom rocks!  We did similar things.. like place mats.. laminated with Christmas cards inside.

Renee ~  The environment should be a priority in all kinds of ways!

Karen ~  You are green.. so you are doing great!  I got far less cards this year than ever.. but I think people are just not spending money on the cards, stamps etc.. when we can do it electronically it saves, time, money and the environment.. not so good for the card companies.. and all the workers.. but our world is evolving and some things need to change.

Carra:  My Mom uses Christmas cards as tags for Christmas gifts the following year.  We've also made Christmas ornaments with them.  I'll see if I can dig one up for you and explain how to make one.  You'd enjoy it.

I would never bother with cards (don't send many anyway). But I do try to follow the old idea of reusing and using up when I can. I'm trying for less waste in our lives.

Joshua ~  Thanks..

Donna ~  What great way to "reuse" the idea!  Thank you and I hope people like it!

Michelle ~  Well now you can think twice about it.. I got some late Xmas cards and I am going to use the post cards I created from the left overs and send a Happy New Years note on the re-cycled Christmas Card.. with my sticker of course so they know what I am doing..

David ~  Those 3 R's have been around a LONG time..  20 years ago my daughter made me get a re-cycle container for aluminum cans.. so we have been TRYING to recycle, reduce, reuse  a long time!

Carra, Great video and great idea.  I am a child of parents who remembered the great depression, so I picked up tips from my mom too - I recycle cards also as tags and even make cards by adding backs to a beautiful front.

Great stuff!  All the best to you in 2011!
