The San Diego Cat Fanciers, a chapter of the Cat Fanciers Association, puts on two cat shows each year, the first one in January at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This year's Del Mar show will be Saturday, January 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, January 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $8 Along with over 450 cats representing 41 breeds, there will be exotic cats, show cats, kittens for sale, rescue cat adoptions, a household pet competition, and many vendors with anything and everything to make your own special cat the king or queen of your household. We had thought about entering Zoey the Cool Cat in the household pet competition, but she already is the queen of this household, and that's enough for her! Click on the coupon below and you can get a coupon for $1 off the $8 admission price: This will be the third consecutive year I've gone to the show, and the fifth overall since I've been living in San Diego. Hope to see you there! ♪♫♫♫♪

Great Localism post Jim! This would be a great event to attend if nearby, is it televised? Oh! And are there ever any cat fights? I just had to ask!
Jim, Gosh those cats are really lay-back to be able to hang out with so many curious people. I remember you posting about this event last year. Have fun and hopefully you'll find some great toys for Zoey.

I love cat shows; they are so much fun. We have one locally that we took a bunch of our shelter cats too. We won a whole bunch of ribbons with our homeless bunch (and got some adopted too). Say Hi to Zoey for me.
Great blog. I didn't know there are "show" cats. I guess I've never seen a cat on a leash.
Jim,
Sounds like an enjoyable event. Wish I could attend, but I don't think I will be in the area any time soon.
BTW, love your cat photos.

Hey, everyone — Thanks for stopping by.
As usual, I get way behind in checking the comments to my many blog posts, so that’s what I’m doing this evening, trying to catch up.
I’ll read through all the comments to see if any of them need a specific response. If so, I’ll respond below this comment. Thanks again for stopping by and commenting. I really do appreciate it, and I’ll be by your blogs soon to do some reading and commenting soon.
Happy new year to everyone!
Wanda – It hasn’t been televised in the past, and as to cat fights, I haven’t seen any whenever I go to the show. The cats seem to be quite well-behaved.
