Where Am I?

Back in Alabama now…the drive seems to get longer every time I make it, but family and friends are worth the effort.  I was expecting snow most of the way and had prepared myself for a long, stressful ride in snow and Ice, but luck was on my side as the ride north was fairly clear…the ride back the same.  What I wasn’t quite prepared for was the three inches of snow on the ground in Alabama when I returned.  When I left Woodstock the temp was about 28 F and when I finally made it back to Huntsville the temp was 29 F.  So what’s up with that?  This was the first white Christmas in Huntsville in the last 21 years!!!  Anyway, I thought it would be fun if you guessed which of the two following photo’s was taken in Woodstock Illinois and which was taken in Huntsville Alabama.

Where was this taken photo #2

If you had been driving up from the Florida Keys (low 62) you may have chosen to stay with the family a bit longer. We find that we have to insist that they leave for at least 2 days after a 5 day visit.

Hi Nick!  I was a little bummed I didn't have any accumulation at my house, but a lot of places nearby did.  It was fun watching those fat snowflakes falling!  So is #2 Huntsville?

Kathy-know what you mean re: the family visits.

George-you guys really got hammered...snow blowers/throwers are a good thing.

Patricia-you can't fool a girl familiar with the area.

Dawn-I'm disappointed in you.

Jackie-you guys really got hammered with the snow...stay warm.

Rob-well enjoy and stay safe...easy for me to say...most of the snow here is gone already.

Ed-very strange indeed.  Photo #1 is Alabama.  Photo #2 is looking east from my home in Woodstock.

Karen-see my answer to Ed.

Lee & Pamela-and a very Happy New Year to the both of you.

Gene-I don't try to make sense of the weather any more...have a good one.

Diane-sorry but, no brass ring for you.

Ann-quite a surprise for Alabama and the southeast in general.  #2 is a horse farm next to across from my home in Woodstock Illinois.
