I made a commitment while I was at RainCamp Charlotte on October 28th 2010, to myself, and then to others ( I even told Kerrie, YIKES) ......
When I said it out loud it seemed like a huge dream and I wondered if I was going to be able to stay the course.....
Some people here in the Rain say that the “points” don't matter, I beg to differ. The points are what keeps us motivated, a daily reminder that we are doing what we are suppose to be... Yes the end result to all of this is making sure that others know who we are around the country for referrals, but how do we know that is working? How do we know how many people out there right now would refer a client to us if they had one coming to our area? We don't and they may never have someone coming to our area.... But the “points” they tell us that we are out there doing what we should!
We do this because we want the phone to ring, for potential clients to read what we have to say and like it and give US a call. There may be dozens of people that stop by our blogs to read but we may not hear from them for a year.... How do we know we are out there enough?? The “points”.... Checks and balances that is how I look at it, something tangible that I can see!
Do I want to be number one in my town? I sure do!! And I am working hard at producing blogs that I hope people enjoy reading!!
So what was my goal? To reach 100,000 points by the end of 2010... I DID IT!! I am doing the happy dance here in Fayetteville!
For those points I have met a lot of GREAT people here in the Rain that I call friends (and that I hope would feel comfortable sending a referral my way..), learned an ENDLESS amount of information that is priceless! I have written 207 post, had 15 features (VERY EXCITING), gained 85 subscribers (I can hardly believe it!!), number 2 in my town, and number 64 in the state of North Carolina. This is my 139th straight day of blogging without missing a day, sometimes that was a struggle on in itself!
I am proud of each of my accomplishments in my short time of participating in the Rain! I look forward to what it has to offer for me in 2011! I will go out on a limb here and project my end number for 2011... I will have 400,000 points, another 25 features, and will have received 10 clients as a direct result of being a part of this wonderful community called Active Rain!!
Thank you to all that participated in my blogging attempts...my cheerleaders that kept me going!! Here is to the next year in the Rain... CHEERS!
