Last night, I received 3 fax calls at close to 1:00 a.m. in the FREAKING MORNING!!
My home landline was used, and the number is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER. I've had several calls from the same number during the day. But in the middle of the night -- COME ON!!
This morning I read an article about a man who got SO FED UP with the SPAM to his emails, he started his own activist site, DanHatesSpam.com A good site talking about what he's done to stop email spams.
This morning, I read a post by Greg Nino: I'm Being Harassed talking about his ongoing torment with a company trying to sell him Google ads.
So, now my post to vent a little.
On Dan's site he also doesn't like telemarketers, and did something about it. First, make sure your phone numbers are on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY -- Very easy to register, if you've not done so already.
There's another site: KillTheCalls.com -- you can post your telemarketing complaints and horror stories. The site was launched in 2007 as a resouce for consumers who were fed up with calls recieved from telemarketers. A good self-help with information needed to try and stop these calls.
FINALLY -- You can lodge a FORMAL COMPLAINT with the FCC. I suspect, if they get enough COMPLAINTS filed from the same phone number, they'll look into it.
On the FCC site, you can lodge a formal complaint with them for telemarketing, junk faxes, etc.
There's another call I keep getting from 818-812-3117. Their recorded message stated my mortgage company was offering me LOAN MODIFICATION!! Press 1 to register -- NOW THAT'S SCARY -- a CRAP SHOOT call to see if anyone takes the bait!! A complaint was lodged with the FCC.
