A new respect for the guys that plow the snow

My son went plowing this year for the first time and of course his first storm was the blizzard that hit us in New Hampshire.  He plowed all during the storm and long after.

They have finally gotten everything cleaned up, but he plowed for 35 hours over a two day period.  I know that the guys who plow the snow are out there working while we are snug in our beds, but this was a first hand look at how HARD they work.

Thank you to all the snowplow people who keep the roads clear for us.

that's a brutal job....they are out on the roads all night and into the morning....many times they work round the clock until they can find relief.....

A friend of the family plows in upstate New York and he was up the entire night clearing the roads from the blizzard a few days ago. Bless them!

Your snows of today were our rains of a week ago. We had another storm come through today, so look for it in about seven days, too!

Hope you have been having a great end-of-year holiday week with lots of fun and food with family and friends, not to mention a little business with those clients!

Hey Barbara, Around the clock indeed.

Michael, these guys have incredible stamina...I would be dozing off.

Russel, Oh boy, more snow coming.  I can't complain, our Winter has been mild so far.

Beautiful photo.  I remember as a kid hearing snow plows on Christmas morning and thinking what a horrible, horrible job that was!!!   Not to be home and warm on Christmas morning with your presents to play with.

Rene, everyone here is NJ is complaining about the snow removal efforts.  I for one think they did a great job, considering there were so many idiots on the road that didn't heed the snow emergency warnings!  How much snow did you get?

Rene--Kudos to your son for sticking with it his first time out.  No doubt he did not know what he was getting himself into, but he hung in there!!  The snows on the east coast meant I got a few extra days with my daughter who could not fly back in to NY.  Some good comes with the bad!

Hi Pat, Cool that you got to hold onto you daughter for a few extra days.  Even when our kids are all grown up we have the same heart tugs when we know they are going through a difficult time.  I felt SO GUILTY in my warm bed, knowing he was out there.  And I will always appreciate all the plowguys from now on!
