It's in my profile that I'm the quirky female owner of several furry felines (aka: crazy cat lady), and so I occasionally wake up to find "gifts" on my doormat.
The irony of this message, however, I felt had to be shared, since it was so poignant, and so wrong on so many different levels.
Oh, and for the record, this is exactly how it was placed, I did not move anything to make it more photogenic.

Your cat is artistic! My step-cat usually brings home bunnies. Bunnies with no heads,it would make for a grizzly photo.
I didn't know cat's to read, guess her way of expressing Joy. My cat loved to leave me gifts as well and when it was a rat .. it got extra praise .. or joy. Perfect photo opportunity!
Carol - I had a black cat by the name of Sabu, who was extremely smart and a prolific hunter. He also hated men, who visited. Once I had a computer tech come to my home for a couple hours. When it came time for the tech to leave, there were 2 mice, 1 squirrel, 1 mole, and a bird, laying on the doormat. Sabu sat nearby to tell me, he could provide for me better:-)

Maureen: Yes, headless bunnies would be gross. I will say, this particular rat disappeared by the time I went to the gym 30 minutes later...
