The Band "Mama Tried" will perform free at Binn's Park from 10-midnight. Tickets can be purchased in advance at any Turkey Hill Minit Market or at the city & Lampeter YMCA. And the Science Factory will be open until 11pm for some family fun as well.
Akron, PA Drops a giant purple & gold sneaker. I am unable to find a current link to this year's "Shoe-In" but in the past it has included children's activities, music & carriage rides. The giant sneaker is usually dropped near Weiser's grocery store or The Ten Thousand Villages shops (near the site of former shoe making factories).
You need to get there early in Elizabethtown to see the dropping of the M&M which falls at 7pm to conincide with midnight at E-town's sister city in Letterkenney, Ireland.
Run by the Chamber of Commerce, Let E-Town Ring will be held from 5-8pm along South Market Street. A chili cookoff, celtic dancers and a train display are some of the activities to enjoy this New Year's Eve.
Every New Year’s Eve since 1756, The Lititz Moravian Church members gather for a Watchnight service which will be an informal service of hymn singing & scripture readings. This year the community is invited to the 7:30 pm service. The Moravian Star is usually RAISED, not lowered on New Year's Eve. There are no other activities planned in Lititz for New Year's Eve this year.
Manheim will be celebrating from 9pm to midnight with "Dancin’ in the Streets" and the raising of the "Orb" at the Square's flagpole. The "Orb" or ball was locally built and designed. Music will be provided by DJ Gregg Stief.
There are others too numerous to mention like Kutztown's dropping of the bologna and Hershey's dropping of the Hershey Kiss but you get the idea. Lancaster County has a lot to offer!
