I recently read that there were 200,000 jobs listed on usajobs.com (and .gov) but there were something like 29 million people registered on the site looking for jobs with the feds. A daunting task if you only look at the numbers. In today's mullet wrapper (The Washington Post) an article written by Derrick T. Dorch on another way to seek a government job.
You may not be getting a pay raise for the next two years but as one federal employee told me the other day, "at least I am not on the street looking and I am thankful for that." If you know of someone looking for work, this article in today's Post is just one more angle to use to try to find gainful employment.
Not all government jobs are in the D.C. area. Although heavily concentrated here, they are spread all over the country (and overseas).
