Another Way To Find A Government Job!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Kingstowne/Alexandria, VA Office

I recently read that there were 200,000 jobs listed on usajobs.com (and .gov) but there were something like 29 million people registered on the site looking for jobs with the feds. A daunting task if you only look at the numbers. In today's mullet wrapper (The Washington Post) an article written by Derrick T. Dorch on another way to seek a government job.

You may not be getting a pay raise for the next two years but as one federal employee told me the other day, "at least I am not on the street looking and I am thankful for that." If you know of someone looking for work, this article in today's Post is just one more angle to use to try to find gainful employment.

Not all government jobs are in the D.C. area. Although heavily concentrated here, they are spread all over the country (and overseas).

Youre welcome. He should register and put his resume on the site and make it searchable. The site again is usajobs.com and usajobs.gov. The article in the post tells you how to get an edge by looking at the budget requests for federal agencies for staffing.
