"I'm just checking it out right now.........Maybe next month."

As a Social Marketing Trainer for Active Rain it is my job to contact our non - RainMakers and explain how they can market their listings and services on ActiveRain. "I'm just checking it out right now.........Maybe next month." I hear this all the time.

So you took the first step because somebody somewhere said something about ActiveRain. Maybe it was a colleague, maybe you went to one of our Raincamps, or maybe your boss told you to and all you're going to do on it is "what he tells you to". Yeah, I've heard that one too. People, we have the most powerful real estate blogging platform in the world and you need to take advantage of that.

Here's the problem. Depending on the promotion for any particular month, it's a nominal charge to get started. Anywhere from free to $5 for the first month! So go ahead and wait til' next month, you've only wasted 30 days. That's 1/12th of your entire fiscal marketing campaign! What's the reason for "intro" month? We want you to feel comfortable for that first month while you are taking the blog training classes and write your first few blogs.

Just in case you didn't know, ActiveRain offers unlimited free blog training to it's members.

If you correctly (yes, there is a correct way to write a public blog) wrote one blog a week, you will get an average of 500 potential clients per blog! So go ahead and "check it out" for another month.

There are approximately 1.6 million people in the real estate industry and a startling 30% turnover rate per year. The RainMaker product is the most cost effective social marketing product available and can help keep you from becoming a statistic.

A few points underneath a blank photo does not mean you are "checking it out".

Contact your Social Marketing Trainer today for more information on becoming a RainMaker. I promise, you won't be sorry you did.

Sam, I have heard about ActiveRain for years! A few (very few) of my clients have used it and none of them to it's full potential. I don't jump into anything full bore (at least spend money on it) if I am not hitting it hard. I LOVE IT! I am so glad I joined despite my recent hiccup. I plan on keeping with it and going full steam ahead. It really is completely worth it!!  Already got two clients off it in two months! Whoohoo!

Tammy - So Glad to have you here and getting those leads and clients is what the RM is all about! And you're so right about attacking full force. You really hit the ground running, I can't wait to see what you do with a full year at your fingertips!

Dawn - Our live blog training classes repeat every week at the ActiveRain University. If you still can't find the time, drop me a line and I will send you link to a prerecorded webinar but keep in mind, the live classes are interactive with our blog trainer Steven Graham.

I think sometimes it's tough for an agent to take that step - they are constantly bombarded with solicitations from people who are selling something - I've received numerous calls from my clients asking my opinion on a phone call they received with someone on the other end promising to 'get them on the first page of google' for $50.. so I understand how their initial reaction is no - they've been programmed to do this - a natural defense..

Also - there are many agents who are terrified of technology - and starting from the beginning WOULD feel daunting I'm sure... so I get it.

But I also get how AWESOME Active Rain is! I suggest it to all of my clients as well as anyone else that will listen!

I have been a member since 2007 and left the business for a little over a year, but I always came back to read blogs on the AR.  But it really surprised me when I tried to post a blog to the public I was not allowed.  So yes, I am still thinking about making that leap!
