NEVER ASSUME that a licensed Realtor, is not a qualified Professional Home Stager.

I am a licensed Realtor, who also does Professional Home Staging for my clients.  I am also a graduate of Calif. State University Fresno, with a B.A. Degree in Art and Design.  Because I am an Artist/Designer, I am able to offer my home sellers, Free Home Staging, which is an important part of my service. In today's real estate market, I feel that home staging is definitely necessary, to optimize a home's appeal to the largest pool of potential buyers. Also, staged homes sell faster, and usually maximize the final selling price. I realize that some Professional Home Stagers, always assume that a Realtor is not a qualified Professional Home Stager.

In the last few years, home staging has become a huge multi million dollar business, throughout the U.S. There are now many places offering home staging training classes, and a certification to prove the training. It has become a big money making industry, to say the least.

Well, I got curious and I contacted some of these places, asking about their training and certification.  The better training classes usually last for a few weeks and I was told the certification was to prove to the public, you have some official art and design training in your background.

I was also informed by some of these companies, there are many successful Professional Home Stagers, with Natural Artistic Talent and no official art and design training classes in their background. When I learned this, it reminded me to never assume anything, but try to know the facts.

Good post! I too am a trained professional home stager holding certification through Barb Schwarz. It's something I talk about a lot in my business portfolio and with sellers as it's an added benefit that many cannot share.

Myrna~ An agent who is also a stager! I'm glad I don't have to compete with you! Give us some good staging tips in your blog. That should be a natural fit for you.

Hi again.  Don't be afraid to just blog anything.  In fact there is a group for that... WE Blog Anything!  It really helps if you make yourself do it just once a week until you can do it more often.  It will pay off!  I think I can send you an invitation...

I would love to take some courses for staging as we do not have any in our area and I would love to be able to help my sellers with this. We are VERY rural.
