The very Best way to blog to get lasting traffic to your website

Services for Real Estate Pros with Sarasota Bay Real Estate

I am sure many of you have seen hundreds of blog posts that amount to a complete waste of time and effort and really do nothing to help home buyers find you. When a home searcher is looking for a new residence, do you honestly believe they are going to search for a chocolate cake recipe to find a new home?

I dont think many bloggers really understand the true power of active rain blog posts and how they can really help home buyers find you.

Every blog post you make you should consider it to be a mini-website that can be found in search results by people looking for homes and services in your area. One of the most powerful ways to accomplish this is through blogging about subdivisions in your area. I do this all the time and it allows me to be found through many instances of items in search results for a particular community. It is not uncommon for someone doing a search in my market to find my web page that describes a particular community, an active rain blog post about that same community, a entry about that community (remember you have the option of publishing your blog post on the Active Rain's affiliate, an article I wrote on EzineArticles about that community and also a lens I made about that same community.

Try to imagine occupying 5 out of the top ten slots in search results for a particular community and all of these assets link back to your sales website? If you do not think it is pretty powerful, think again. My website receives well over 150 unique visitors each day and as a result of all these assets I have created, I am #1 for the search term "Sarasota Homes for Sale", #3 for "Sarasota Homes", #5 for "Sarasota Real Estate", and #4 for Sarasota Florida Homes."

To give you some examples of this strategy, you can view some of the assets my SEO company has created for me as well as some of my blog posts below:

Laurel Oak Real Estate on

Laurel Oak Homes for Sale on EzineArticles

Laurel Oak Real Estate on

Laurel Oak Homes for sale on my WordPress Blog

And Laurel Oak Real Estate on my Website

As a result of doing this, I rank #3 for Laurel Oak Real Estate in Google search results and this golf communities homes average $600,000 each. Pretty tidy comission selling one of them!

Finding buyers on the internet is a numbers game. The more traffic you drive to your website the bigger chance you have of finding someone who is ready to buy a house NOW. If you do not capture that traffic, you are going to make a very pathetic living off of your Internet marketing efforts.

Here is an Active Rain blog post I did on The Hamptons on Palmer Ranch that will give you an example of a very powerful Active Rain blog post that will drive home searchers to your website and is also a sure fire way to boost your website in search results:

The Hamptons on Palmer Ranch

So before you take that precious time to write that blog post, think about writing one that can actually help you sell a house.

Great information, Christina, especially for people who run the "shotgun" approach instead of the rifle approach.

Can I ask you though, 150 visits each day but how many leads? Leads to selling opportunities? And finally, how many sales?

You've probably done the math on this, I was trying to gage how much it equated to a value per hour you spend on blogging?

Thanks for a timely post.

I average about 10 good leads a week that result in my days being busy showing properties. 80% of my leads are second home buyers looking for Florida winter residences. This month I will likely write 4 contracts.

By no means do I spend a lot of time blogging, in fact Active Rain is the only blogging I do. The rest of my SEO and article work is done by my SEO provider as is all the work done on my website. I simply do not have the time.

For me, paying an SEO $1,500 a month is money well spent as they know exactly what to target, how to target it, and do it the quickest way possible. All of the assets that are created are designed to both boost my website in search results and be a valuable resource to home buyers. And it works... While other agents are starving or getting out of the business, I am very busy showing properties. (Showed 4 houses today)

I am not trying to toot my own horn, I am just trying to inspire other agents that there is a better way.. and a way that works very well.

Yes Realestate marketing has changed from farming a geographical area with direct admail to learning how to catch leads and buyers in an internet net of good information. Thanks for the inspiration.

Fist you need to make sure your website has the right key words on its pages its best that your site has article content, note blogs do well in this area. Once that is done you need to get the word out or back links. There are many ways to go about this a lot of people use software to help them these days. You can go about this with free software or software that you pay for. If you would like a free copy of traffic software and more tips on web traffic you can go to this free software will send targeted traffic to any website. Why? If you go to any search engine and type in free traffic trapper you will see that is number one on your search that’s how good this free software is. Thank You Paul

Paul, that Black Hat technique is a sure fire way to get you banned in the Google index and of course will be the first result for "free traffic trapper", it is an exact match keyword!

Spammer tactics can cause an agent to loose everything they have worked hard for and your advice is the worst you could give a real estate agent. Not to mention your site is highly suspect and products like this are typically full of malware and Trojan scripts.

Save your posts for the spammer forums, they might bite, I certainly will not and hopefully this post helps an un-knowing agent stear clear of your product.

Christina, Most of my business comes from the Internet – either via AR or directly from one of my sites. My open house time is blogging!
