Boulder County, Save the Date - Lafayette Oatmeal Festival
One week from today on January 8th, 2011, Lafayette will host it's 15th annual Quaker Oatmeal festival. This is a great opportunity for many of you who included as one of your new year's resolutions to get healthier. The festival will include activities for just about everyone.
An oatmeal breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Elementary on 101 East Baseline. You'll get to experiment with the largest variety of various toppings to add to your bowl of oatmealm you likely have every experienced and/or enjoy muffins and pancakes.
If you have a special talent for backing or cooking foods with oatmeal, you may choose to enter your creations into the baking contest. your entry must be dropped off at the Pioneer Elementary Atrium between 8:00 and 9:00 A.m.
Maybe you just have interest in attending the health fair which will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.. at the Bob Berger recreational center.
A 5K walk/run will begin at 9:00 a.m. with prices ranging from between $75 and $100.
A early look at the weather forecast suggests a far more friendly and warmer forecast than the COLD weather temperatures today. The high temperature today was only supposed to reach 18 degreeswith a low of 2. Burr.
This event is definitely a worthwhile event to attend, so mark your calendars now. Perhaps, I'll see you there.
