Raining in the New Year

Raining in the New Year...  How  I spent the beginning of 2011...

I'm not the least bit ashamed to admit I rang in the New Year cozied up on my couch watching a very orange-toned Dick Clark and putting the finishing touches on my blog- My Favorite Listing Photos of 2010.  I had great company as you can see from the photo- surrounded by boyfriend, our Dobermans, and some kitty friends while getting work done was the perfect way for me to ring in my new year in Real Estate.

2010 was a great beginning for me.  I joined Active Rain, attended my first Rain Camp, and found the beginnings of my blogging voice. 2011 is set to be epic!

I rang in the new year as well watching a very aged Dick Clark that displayed some difficulty in even speaking which I predict next year will be Ryan Seacrest New Year's Special I don't see Mr. Clark doing it ever again it seemed really hard on him. But you are not the only one that stayed at home stuggled to you boyfriend and puppy I am part of that club to.. Hope you have a great 2011.

Christie - I rang in the new year in a very similar fashion.  The last few years it seems the thing to do!  And you're right...Dick Clark was a bit too "orange".

Kristi- It is impossible to convince either of my Dobermans that they aren't lap dogs.  They don't feel weighing in at 100 lbs should disqualify them :)  Happy New Year to you as well!

Stacey- I grew up watching Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve and am amazed he is hanging in their despite his stroke.  I agree, it had been more and more Ryan Seacrest over the past few years.  It was funny listening to Mr. Clark take him to task at the end of the broadcast last night for complaining he was hot outside.  Cuddled up at home can be a great way to start the New Year, hope yours was as fantastic as mine and wishing you a great 2011!

Christie,

That picture with the Doberman is hilarious. This is a new Christie for me. Somehow I didn't picture you as a homebody on New Year's Eve. Please don't tell me Al Chef is the party hound in your group.

Have a great New Year...get that license.

Lori and Bruce- It's nice to have a low key New Years Eve some times.  We tend to alternate between going out and staying in though it seems the years we do go out.. get all dressed up.. and go to some expensive (because they all are) venue at the end of the day we wish we had just stayed home curled up on the couch.  My goal as a new agent would be to one day be invited to help host a NYE party at the home of a buyer I helped get their first house that year.  I think that would be awesome.

Rich- In total sincerity I can say- have owned Snoodles and I have owned Dobermans and Dobermans make a much sturdier lap desk :)  We try to alternate years.. one going out and then the next one staying in.  Last year we went to the Hyatt in Baltimore.  Seems the years we go out we always think.. I could have spent less money and had a better time staying home.   I will admit I enjoy the girlie dressing up part though.  Al totally took point in the party game last year.  This year is MY year.. for success AND fun :)

It's funny how big dogs always think they are lap dogs. New Year's Eve can be overrated, and staying home with people you care about is the best way to go. Best of luck to you in 2011.

That is awesome that your big ol' dog thinks they are a lap dog.

Dan and Amy- No one could convince them otherwise.  They awkwardly curl up anywhere as long as they can be close to their people.

John- He just doesn't understand.  He's 100 lbs of pure love and just wants to share :)  People get really intimidated when they come into my house and I try to explain... he's a lover, not a fighter!

Brian- Thanks! I was quite content warm and cozy on my couch with my furry (and not furry) friends :) Plus, it's said what you are doing at midnight is what you'll be doing all year so if that is generating more business then that is a-ok with me!

Christie, this is yet another thing we have in common (besides girlie girl phones)...we both have 100 lb. lap dogs that we spent New Year's with! Except I have 4 of them. :)

Leilani- I am holding at two right now.  My female is only 9 months old so she is *only* around 75 lbs lol.  Of course I have a breeding pair so...  I see more than four in my future :)  Thanks for stopping bye!

I see others agree. The baby-dog's photo takes the cake! I'll admit that your New Year's Eve looked a lot like mine, only my Scottish Terrier would never deign to lower herself by snuggling up beside me. Daddy's dog all the way~!

Vickie- They are fickle... no matter what is going on they jump up and follow daddy when he goes to bed because he lets them cuddle on the bed with him. Mean mommy makes them get down when she comes in (though they did get to stay Christmas eve and night).

Christie, what a great New Year.  I love evenings like that.  Great photo, using the dog as table indeed.  Sounds like my house!

Kate- It was a great New Year!  Dobermans may not be the ideal lap dogs (don't tell THEM that) but they make excellent lap desks!  From reading your blog, I think we have similar houses (full of pets and love... I wouldn't have it any other way!)
