Sunrise and Sunset at Salisbury Beach Massachusetts

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty

It's not too often you can wake up in the morning and walk or ride your bike down the road to the beach and watch the sunrise. My wife Monika had been bugging me for a couple of weeks to head to the beach bright and early and take pictures of the sunrise.

We had been camping at Salisbury State Beach Reservation campground for a couple of weeks while we headed back and forth to work. You realy didn't think Monika was going to get up and really head down there at 5:45 AM did ya?

Well I did make it down to the beach that day and it was a pretty sunrise as it had been the last few days. This was September 6th, 2007.

Sunrise

When I headed down to the beach it was just me and a lonely fisherman trying to catch that night's dinner. I was then joined by a few people trying to take pictures just like me. They were trying to get that picture perfect postcard shot. When I made it back to the motor home, guess who was still sleeping? Yup, she was snoring up a storm. Well, we had a great day and as we all know, days turn into night, but, not until you get to see the sunset.

Of course Monika was awake by now and we had dinner then I headed over to the boat ramp and the beach on the western side of the campground to watch the sunset.

Sunset

I ended up taking my bike and I took a picture of a couple who were watching the sunset and taking their own pictures. It was funny, the wife kept telling the husband to climb on an old pier and I thought he was going to fall into the water. It cracked me up. I ended up heading back to our campsite and we had a great dinner. I also snuck out on the 4th of September and took a couple of nice sunrise shots then too.

George I love you and yes you're right I do not snore...

Guess where Jay is...snoring away. He golfed all day in the rain while I worked. Then he came home all tired out...what a anniversary and then he has the nerve to say I snore????

Jay... That was absolutely beautiful.  Thanks so much for sharing one of nature's wonders.  And, I loved the sound of the waves breaking on the shore.

Thanks for all the comments and I'm off to play golf again this morning and I just went in to check on Monika to say goodbye and guess what? She's not snoring. Darn, it must have been the campers next to us that were snoring last week. Surely I thought I could catch her snoring.

Hey the Yankees played well and they are a good team, unfortunatley they will not make it, I hope. I don't think the Sox really want to play them again. LOL

I was more excited about the PAtriots win over the Chargers.

Aziz, not sure, they did say he would be out for 10 days when it happened. They need to get rid of JD Drew. Drew is just not a great ball player.

LOL ........ Jay, I don't think the Yankees want to play the Red Sox again either.  We are hoping they lose in the first round so that we don't have to play them for the League Title.

Now the Patriots is a team that we will both be cheering for.  I kept on flipping the channels between both games, and it was odd that they both ended almost at the same time :)

Jay...

That was just beautiful. I have not seen the sunrise in your parts in more than 20 years.

You brought back memories of camping, fishing and long lazy days at the beach.

I enjoyed them :)

Snoring? You should have made a video. Shhh. Don't tell Moni I said that :)

TLW...ROAR!

George, Red Sox seem to be taking the pipe. The new saying around here is "Panic Nation" as opposed to Red Sox Nation.

TLW, Great idea about the video but I would like maintain our great relationship. Mentioning it was pushing it a little but she's a good sport.

Debi,  clouds if not to heavy can make a great backdrop to some nice colors splashing off the clouds.

Jay my friend, just like I commented a couple of weeks ago when the Red Sox had a 7 game lead for you not to count your chickens before they hatched, I will also equally advise for you not to count them lost before it happens.  The Red Sox still have a game lead in the lose column and 2 in the win column.  So keep the faith until it is over and I will keep mine, that way we can both enjoy this photo finish.  This is what being Yankee and Red Sox fans is all about.  If either team was blowing out the other, this would not be any fun.

What a heartbreaking loss by the Yankees in 14 innings. Seems like it's getting tougher and tougher as we head down the stretch.

Magic number is now down to 7. Sox sure are making it interesting.

GO PATS!!!

Jay, seven can be sooooooooo far away. It will only be that much sweeter when the Yankees pull ahead in the last game :)

And yes GO PATS!!!!!!

When it's close to sunset (and I can see the sun) I've often checked out the clouds to determine if I get the camera... what do you think?
