Starting the New Year 2011 off with a little hope. Hope in that the New Orleans City’s Mortgage and Conveyance Office can provide records so that real estate transaction can go forward. Since October it has been almost impossible to close a real estate transaction in the Parish of Orleans. This delay has stopped refinance, act of sales and pushed buyers to look elsewhere.
Property in Jefferson Parish is a good buy and the Conveyance Office have their files back up so they will not hold up your purchase.
The bright side is that so far my buyers are willing to wait a little longer for their purchases to close in Orleans Parish.
Day 68 and counting.
