The Real Estate World as we know it is changing daily ! There has never been a time where practitioners have as much liability and responsibility in an individual transaction. No agent can afford to rest on the laurels of Knowledge Past. The 2008-2010 real estate years have been a cleansing market that has forced all productive agents to reinvent themselves. Agents have been forced to Remargin their business, eliminating anything that does not produce a ROI. Many pre 2000 marketing methods are no longer cost effective or are far too time consuming.
That being said, it's time we as an industry embrace the new reality that Blogging is Lead Generation ! I am asked all the time when teaching Social Media,"How much time do you spend a day doing it?" I can tell from their question that they're hoping I'm going to say 8 hours per day, so they can eliminate doing it ! It is clear from the nature of that question that they don't get it ! Blogging is Lead Generation ! Many agents just don't see the difference between blogging and relaxing with Farmville.
Seminar after seminar, encourages each attender to become the Mayor of their market. All applaud the speaker as being right on . But most are still trapped in the box because they don't believe Blogging is Lead Generation. They will make a feeble attempt at this task by nearly going bankrupt on snail mail postage and old fashion paper newsletters ! How tragic they don't know that Blogging is Lead Generation !
Never has it been easier to Brand yourself in a specific marketplace. Never has it been so cost efficient to do so. Add to that, it's also time effective. Why ? Because Blogging is Lead Generation ! It's new age prospecting reinvented ! Author Gary Keller says every real estate agent has two jobs; real estate and Lead Generation ! Please the next time you're talking about blogging on Active Rain, proudly proclaim that Blogging is Lead Generation !!!
