ActiveRain's New Social Blog

Real Estate Technology with ActiveRain

We have a new feature that helps you view the most recent posts of the members to which you subscribe.  Previously you clicked Blogs, saw your blog subscription list on the right hand side and clicked through each amazingly talented member one by one.

No longer my friends! The new ActiveRain Social Blog makes it easier!

The Social Blog is a one stop shop to view the latest posts from your favorite bloggers.  Go to and you will see your own version.  Here's what mine looks like:

The most recent post of my subscriptions is by Pat Kennedy so her most recent post is listed first.  If you scroll down you'll see 10 of the most recent blog posts from the members to which you subscribe on the first page.

Check out the 'Suggested Reading' at the top.  The algorithm looks at who I'm subscribed to, who they're subscribed to, adds in a few other components and suggests other bloggers which may interest me.  Like many of the social suggestion tools out there, it makes suggestions based on things that interest you. Facebook suggests friends, Amazon suggests products, now ActiveRain suggests bloggers. The 'suggested reading' bar will change each time you return so you always have a chance to check out new and interesting bloggers here in the Rain.

We hope this makes viewing your posts by your favorite bloggers easier while also introducing you to other members of the community that may interest you.

Let it Rain!!

I went to the page.  It kind of blew my mind.  I guess I will have to get used to it.

I really do like this tool. Now, after using for a bit I have a few suggestions to further improve.

1.  There needs to be an easier way to comment.  If you read it and then want to comment, there should be button at the bottom to allow you to add/view comments.  Now, you have to scroll back up to it and click on title.  At times, I'm getting tired/lazy and if connection is slow, i am now commenting less.

2.  would b good to see how many comments there are and whether it is featured.

3.  would be good to show city/state of the blogger on the right.

Kerrie, it's different and a quick read. I'm also flattered that my photo is the first one on the right. You just caught me in the middle of changing from the Christmas Avatar.

Jenny:  You can access this from your "Profile" page... on the left side, just below "Write a Blog Post" is the link "Read Social Blog" and yes... the same thing appears on your "Home Page".  It is along the left side... almost at the top.  It is again, just below the "Write a Blog Post."

I wondered what the social blog was all about.  I haven't began to use it on a regular basis yet, but I feel like it will be easier than just scrolling down the row of my subscriptions.  Thanks for the upgrade!

I haven't been around much since the holidays and just noticed this feature on my AR page tonight so I had to go search and see what it is all about...I love this!  It is much more intuitive and makes commenting and reading posts by those readers that you've found value in previously so much easier!  Good job, AR!
