A lot of you know me as a very active blogger. I have three active blogs right now that I update regularly. I really enjoy active rain and the interaction with all of the realtors that I have worked for and the realtors I have yet to work for. The comments and the comment threads are something that I thoroughly enjoy. But most recently a home inspector in the South Bay has found it necessary to use my blogs as an advertising platform for himself. So he enjoys leaving comments with his business information and phone number. I find this aggravating and in poor taste. This inspector won't even take the time to create an active rain account for himself. So this evening I picked up the phone and called his company. I said hey how you doing? I found you through some comments that you had left for David home inspection! . He says yeah great! How can I help you. I said you can start buying not advertising your business on my blogs! I then introduced myself and explained why I felt it was in poor taste. I mean, how lazy can one home inspector be! I don't think I'll be seeing any more comments from him!
David - Seriously...?!?! WOW. Just, WOW. How tacky, lazy and unprofessional. However, I love your confrontation!

I agree that is bad taste. Why does he just create something that shows he knows some knowledge i his field. Sad. Happy New Year!
Hi Don. And welcome to ActiveRain. I have three different blogs because I'm sort of a blogger nut! There is a blog on my website. I have the active rain blog. And I also use an outside blog. Each blog offers something unique in how it rewards our business. Obviously the active rain community is unique because it allows real estate insiders to communicate with each other. My website blog offers information about home inspections to our prospective customers. Our outside blog allows us to focus on Google keywords and content that also helps drive web traffic.
Don thanks for the questioning. Keep on blogging!
@Sharon. It's true, sometimes I can't believe the gall of some people. but my mother was a Realtor for 36 years. She said people are opportunist and when opportunity arise . They take it.
@Stan. I check this guy out before I made the phone call. I went to his website, I got some domain information found out the guys running a free website shows no commitment to the client long-term. You're right, just sad. Happy New Year to you as well, my friend!
David great job in telling the guy to take a hike---some people are just never going to get it.
Hi Charles Happy new year Pal! I think I'm going to have to bring back the mad chicken!
It's not just home inspectors. I see it occassionally from all the professions here in the rain. There's one up in Washington who constantly dumps his links into the comments. Guess he doesn't understand that Google doesn't follow the comments, just he posts.
Click the "Report a Concern" link on his comments. Active Rain will take care of it IF you let them know about it.
I did the inspection today as a buyer. I learned a lot about the house. Like it needs a new roof..circuit box is no longer sold....and a few other maintenance issues...now we go back to the seller. But I have a website that provide best home inspections services. https://propertyinspect.net/
