Location and its surroundings of Marion Ar Part I
This is going to be a short series of 4 that I am gathering for you to know more about Marion Ar., my new hometown for the last 9 years. I hope this will help you to understand more about Marion Ar. and why families are choosing to move here.
Marion, Ar. is located in Crittenden County. Marion, Ar. is not a big town, but it is full of big opportunities to call it home for many new families who are planning to move to Marion, Ar. We are mainly a residential town, we have a wide variety of subdivisions for families to choose from, its price ranges from low $100,000 to about $600,000 homes. No matter what you are looking for, there is something for everyone. Our population is about 11,000, and growing. I remember the population was under 9,000 when I first moved to Marion 9 years ago.
There are many different reasons for families moving to Marion, Ar. Some of the common reasons are school district, job transfer, the nature of the town being quiet and yet close to the city, wide choice of houses, newly developed projects like expanding new roads, newer subdivisions are growing, homes are newer built than our surrounding areas, and there are brand new homes to choose from.
As you can see from the map, we are very close to Memphis, Tn. We just cross the bridge over the Mississippi River, and we are in Memphis. It is like within 20 minutes away from downtown Memphis. That is why so neat to live in Marion to enjoy the quietness of a residential town, and yet so close to Memphis, to get some city excitement. You can go to visit the world famous Beale Street, where you can eat the famous Rendezvous BBQ ribs, enjoy some blues from the BB King blues club. The choices are endless.
Marion, Ar. is conveniently located along I-40 and I-55, we are like the middle of everywhere. From going to Little Rock, Ar. on I-40 W, to Memphis, Nashville, Tn. on I-40 E; you can also go to St. Louis, Mo. on I-55 N, to Memphis again on I-55 S. Do you know I-40 is the busiest Interstate highway in the country? There are also many smaller towns within a 50 miles radius to Marion. It is very easy to travel to Marion, Ar. from everywhere.
