Fort Myers Beach January 2011 events are coming soon, so take note of the following dates!

The 2010 Christmas holiday season may be over, but the fun never stops at Fort Myers Beach! January is typically a beautiful time of year in southwest Florida, with lots of sunshine, low humidity, daily high temps in the mid-70’s...and lots and lots of folks here for the season.

Fort Myers Beach always offers a fun time for the entire family, whether vacationing, spending the ‘season’ or full time resident.

Here are January’s events:

The First Annual Putt & Pub Crawl benefiting the Bay Oaks Recreational Campus will be held on January 15, 2011 at various participating watering holes around the town of Fort Myers Beach.

Go to the Yucatan Beach Stand (250 Old San Carlos Blvd, 239-333-4386) to register for this event. Tickets are $100 per four-person team, and include entry into the competition, a wonderful buffet dinner, drink specials (of course), raffles, 50/50, entertainment and much more!

Be a part of Fort Myers Beach history and join the first annual Putt & Pub Crawl!

Also on January 15, 2011, the Baubles and Noshes Fresh Market and Street Fair (say that 3 times fast) will be offered at Santini Plaza, 7225 Estero Blvd, at the southern end of Estero Island. Sponsored by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce and Al Durrett’s merchants in Santini Plaza, the event will take place from 9 am to 4 pm.

Admission to this event is a non-perishable food item, to replenish the shelves of local food banks. The holiday season always takes much from the food supply. So you can contribute something back to the community and have a great time, too!

Prepare to sample a ‘Taste of Santini’ provided by the restaurants of Santini Plaza. Then, while enjoying your samples, work your way through the 40 arts and crafts vendors who will be presenting their fare. Shop the fresh produce market and enjoy lots of other surprises planned for the day.

Finally, for all of you golfers, mark your calendars for January 22, 2011 at 8 am. That is the date and time for the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce 24th Annual Golf Tournament. The event will be held at the Fort Myers Beach Golf Club located at 4200 Bay Beach Lane, Ft. Myers Beach, FL 33931

If you are not familiar with the island, this is the only golf course on Fort Myers Beach, and you can enjoy 1/2 mile of bay side golf as part of your play. The 18 hole semi-private executive golf course is open to the public. This is a great golf course for every level of play and offers a challenging round for the serious golfer.
