Home Prices To Rise In 2011 - According to Nar - Springfield Mo Real Estate

Springfield MO Real Estate Good News

According to the National Association of Realtors, existing home sales will rise 8 percent and possibly an additional 4 percent in 2012.

For the Springfield Mo Real Estate market this is great news.  Homes sales in Greene, Christian, Taney, Webster and Stone counties ended up with 4775 sales.  With an 8 percent increase 2011, that means 5190 homes will sell.

Knowing this is a National prediction for the entire country, some areas of the country will see the increase more, others less.  But I'm optomistic that the Springfield real estate market will be a great market in 2011.

Kay - Yes, some areas will do quite well, especially those that are experiencing jobs growth.  One of the keys will be how foreclosures are handled in the coming year--whether or not government programs are able to save some from foreclosure and how rapidly the banks dispose of REO inventory.  Hope your year is great!

I heard FedEx has profits in 2010, that's a good sign, many people use FedEx as a prediction of how the economy is going to be.  I hope we will see a good 2011 in our market!

Predictions are my area will see a 4% price increase in 2011--that seems reasonable and will be bring a sigh of relief to homeowners wanting to sell--many have been waiting out the down market and our inventory is extremely low.

Kay, That would be fantastic!  With the interest rates still great, perhaps it will spur the on the fence buyers to action and get the market kick started.

John, I see foreclosures not stopping this year.  I'm hopeful that short sales will increase.

Rita, that's good to know about Fedex.  I hope the prediction is right.  We could use an increase in production.

Norma, with an increase in prices, comes increases in sales.  This is going to be a great year.

Liz and Bill, these "on the fence" buyers are going to miss out on a great market if they sit too much longer.

Kay, it sounds like you are off to a very productive start this year. Congratulations on the activity, make sure to take your vitamins though, you're going to need the energy.
