You have to use the Chicago method- We Have Waayys to make you accept our plan.
See....you still have "that energy" flowing & EXPANDING! It's working....for YOU! Great Post....thanks for sharing how important it is for OURSELVES that we be KIND and helpful.... it will always work "its" way back...!
It's so generous of you to share your knowledge. And... extremely rewarding.
I've taken those phone calls (too many to count) and feel great after each one of them.
Kathy
Hi Cecilia, I used to do this in the past but now that we have an active RESA Dallas Chapter I invite these folks to come (2 x as a guest is our limit) and I'd be happy to speak to them there - or other stagers there would.
Now that I am also teaching two courses, one for home sellers/Realtors at a local College in the CE department and as a new trainer for SAR - Staging and Redesign - they also have options to take a class if that's the route they choose. There is nothing wrong with giving away the info however when it comes down to proprietary knowledge and hours of your time being spent with folks, charging for your time does seem like the right thing to do & the info seekers who understand the value of your time and experience won't have a problem with it.
Good for you Cecilia, what goes around comes around. As my girls always say sharing is caring.
I have spent time on the phone also with people asking me about the business. It is surreal to me because I have not been doing this long and am by no means an expert. I am always willing to share my mistakes and sucesses as long as the person seems genuine, informed that Staging is a legit career choice and not a game or time filling activity. I would also hope they are respectful of my taking the time to do it as I would be with others if I called them.
Cecilia,
Giving from your heart is always rewarding. No matter how many calls I have received, I always consider it an honor that someone would value and care about my thoughts and opinions about my Home Staging profession and business. I am passionate and love what I do and am so thankful I can do it everyday. If I share or I can ever help anyone out in anyway, I am proud to do so. At any time, I realize that giving really is receiving!
