I know that folks outside of Indiana think there is no water in Indianapolis. And it is true there isn't much! But, Geist Reservoir is still a very popular place to hang out in the summertime.

There are currently 56 homes for sale in Geist with a dock. You might think they are all very expensive; but there are some very affordable choices. There are 8 homes with massive lake frontage listed; all of these Geist homes are over $1,000,000. There is also the For Sale by Owner on 12642 Shore Vista that is just under $1,000,000.
But there are several choices under $200,000. One of my favorite neighborhoods is Windsong just off of Oaklandon near St Simon Church/School. It is tucked away and has homes in the $200,000 and many have dock access. There is a list that the Homeowner's Association keeps for the dock slips. Currently there is one home for sale in Windsong for less than $200,000 wih 2400 sq ft, four bedrooms, master on the main.
There are always Geist Waterfront Real Estate for sale in some popular Geist neighborhoods such as the Admirals (6), Feather Cove (6), Springs of Cambridge (3) and Masthead, which is a very large neighborhood has eleven currently.
There are other lakes other than Geist Reservoir but they only allow pontoons or fishing boats, they are no wake zones. Examples of those would be Lake Stonebridge or Lake Kessler; both of these each have 3 homes for sale currently.
Another "somewhat" affordable solution to living on Geist Reservoir with a dock would be a condo community called Shorewalk. There are currently three homes for sale in there from $130,000 to $180,000. The $130,000 is a HUD home, ask your Geist Realtor how those work. Shorewalk is an affordable community but what you need to know about it is that the monthly maintenance fee is just over $300/month. That would equate to about $60,000 in mortgable dollars. A lender will consider that amount when they pre approve you.
