Union Pines Senior projects..just the best!

Union Pines High School Vikings

I had the most wonderful treat tonight!  Had the opportunity to be a judge for the individual  Union Pines High School senior projects.  Moore County is blessed with 3 fine high schools, but what I saw tonight was extremely impressive.  All seniors are required to complete a project over the course of several months on a topic that was a learning stretch for them.  Essays, mentors, checkists, mentor and advisor meetings all leading to their final presentation.  I learned an awful lot about beekeeping, car window tinting, car repair, how to creat a video and taxidermy!  The research was in depth as well as the actual application of what they learned.  It was a good day!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it.  Sounds like last night will be with you for a while.  Hope you get to do it again!

Thank you for your comment.  What I have recently found out is that ALL senior students in the Moore County, NC school system are required to have and present a 'senior' project.  Things have certainly changed with our school system in the last number of years...and something to be very proud of!
