Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Results St Cloud Mn real estate

Nordic ski class is a Free Class!

Quarry Park St. CloudStearns County Quarry Park is on the southwest edge of St. Cloud, Minnesota and is one of the nicest parks I have ever seen, and probably one of the best pieces of real estate in St. Cloud, MN. At this time of year the best way to enjoy the park, and our whole area, is on skis. Cross Country skis (Nordic).

Next Saturday, January 15, 2011 there is a free cross country ski class open to the first 20 people who sign up. You can get out, get some exercise, and learn how to do something that everyone should try. You will learn how to quietly glide through the natural snow covered environment. See wildlife, often close up, and enjoy the beauty of Quarry Park.

And they'll teach you how to not fall down:)

Cross country ski equipment can be rented at:

                  Fitzharris Ski & Sport  (320)251-2844   fitzharris@cloudnet.com

                  Revolution Cycle & Ski (320)251-BIKE  www.revolutioncycleandski.com

Limited to the first 20 registrants. To register call (320)255-6172 ext.3 or email: parkinfo@co.stearns.mn.us  by noon on Friday January 14, 2011.

Hey Steve - I remember Fitzharris Ski Shop. I bought my first pair of skies there  - and countless other items over the years.  Sometimes after fresh snow falls in St Cloud, we used to ski downtown to the pizza place - it was heaven!  Stay warm up there!

Sounds like fun -- haven't been skiing, downhill or cross country, in years -- a free class would be just the thing to get me back out there!

Anna: Ahh, the good old days. We used to have snowmobiles parked on 5th Avenue between the House of Pizza and the Press Bar.

Cinnamon: I am hoping to talk Liz into it, but she's into staying warm. Go figure!

Susan: I would hope they would repeat it if turnout is large. There are always alot of people interested in Free around St. Cloud, MN.

Linsey: I would love to, but have to take Liz, and not sure if that will happen. If we go however, I will try to take a picture of "Unidentified woman falling down!" for a future blog:)

Steve, I lived in Colorado for 15 years and never liked down hill but I did like cross country.  It sounds like a fun free experience.

Hi Marchel: I'm with you. Downhill is too much excitement for me, but cross country seems relatively safe and good cardio, etc.

Steve,

Wow, that brings back memories. Used to ski down 5th Ave to downtown during the big blizzards. Seems like there were a lot of blizzards during my college years a hundred years ago.  I was a regular at Powder Hill (Powder Bump we used to call it). And the quarries... well, that was another hang out.

Karen; It really is a pretty nice place to live. Many people imagine we live in igloos and take the dog sled to town once a month:)

Wow, Jean, you are one of our SCSU kids! Powder Ridge is still there. They have a tubing run now. 5th Ave. is still pretty much the same:)
