Because of the good results that I got from the Recovery programs and bad results from using other Undelete programs, I never really use an Undelete program until today. While moving thousands of files from my 4GB USB drive, the computer crashed and all the files that I tried to move were gone. Should had copy the files first then delete them, but was too lazy.
When files are deleted from a hard drive or USB thumbdrive, they are not gone right away. Usually they are just renamed with special characters so it is not visible. As long as new files are not moved into the same area, the deleted files are there. This is where an Undelete program is useful in recovering the files.
I searched the Internet for undelete programs. The one that I found was FileRestorePlus from eSupport.com. Installation was easy and it was able to give me a list of files and folders that were deleted. Now when I try to recover the files, it asked for a key, which cost about $40 for the program. I then look for a few other free undelete programs and use them to see how good they are and they did not return as great of a result as FileRestorePlus. So I purchase a 3 license of FileRestorePlus for $50 ($10 more than the 1 license) and in about 20 minutes got all my lost files. The $50 was worth saving the time and effort and getting the valuable files back.
