How Does YOUR Mortgage Professional Reciprocate? Need your help!

Referrals: We all love em.  But if you are sitting where I am it is hard to make those Realtors in your life feel special and reciprocate  for their
much appreciated business.

I generate, on average, 3 or 4 non-Realtor-attached solid purchase referrals (wow, that needs edited) a year from my sphere.  That doesn't go far when you have way more Realtors than that sending you business on
a regular basis.

So I need your helpWhat do YOUR favorite Mortgage Professionals do (other than get it closed on time!)  to:

1. Make you feel appreciated!
2. Help you grow your business in non-referral ways.
3. Generate referrals for you in ways that I may not be thinking
.

I LOVE my Realtors and want to do everything I can do to help them grow their market share!  I feel like a piker not being able to reciprocate business their way as much as I would like... Any help or suggestions you may have are GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,

KP

My favorite mortgage professionals don't do a dang thing for me. It's all about getting the transaction done! Can they counsel my clients, can they do a great solid pre-approval, do they answer the phone, return e-mails and get docs out on time? If they do they're a 'keeper'.

good tickets to a sporting event, like the Brewers Game, lunches, but what I love the most are leads they get for loans, and the buyer needs an agent!  A reciprocal relationship is ideal!

I agree with Vickie. My lender is a part of my team in my mind. She gives prompt, professional service and that's what I need!

I have this same dilemma.  All of my top producer say the same thing.  Close my deal on time, keep me in the loop, and treat my clients like gold.  I personally stop by to see them once every 2 weeks and usually will take one to lunch to say thank you.  They also love sporting tickets.  I have season tickets to all the professional sports in town and if they don't use them they can be a hero and give them to someone special.

I agree with Vickie and Kathy, but can also see your side of the deal too.  Give us great service!

  • My all time favorite Mortgage Professional use to give us those 800 call capture signs and his staff did all the voice recordings, then he sent us a monthly printout of the calls that were captured.  The leads went directly to our phones one at a time, but monthly we could see how many we actually received because of him.
  • Anotther Mortgage Professional use to put together a book that was given to new REALTOR(r)'s that explained who paid what if it was a conventional loan.  The next page was who paid for what on an FHA loan, and the next was Buyer vs Seller Expenses for VA Loans.  Plus it had other helpful charts and information.  If you are interested in it I can email you a copy of it, although it is very much outdated.

I hope this helps!

My awesome mortgage person started by giving us Redsox tickets.  Now she gives us referrals of her friends and family, calls when she sees a for sale by owner we may be able to solicit or promotes our listings on her fan page/profile page.  These all wouldn't make a bit of difference if she didn't try her best to give our clients the best service possible.  She goes above and beyond to get things done and is very responsive.  Even when she's away on vacation I can count on her to answer her phone or email for a pre-approval or I have the number of someone covering for her that will.  Appreciation never has to be in reciprocal business, but it is very appreciative when it is.  Blew my mind when she was giving me leads that turned into several listings and a few buyers over the course of a year.

Keith: They answer the phone, return emails  and provide a cobranded follow up system after the sale. Having had many bad expereinces with LOs over the year, I'm happy when they just do their job well. Best to you in 2011!

@vivkie kathy and shawna!  What COULD they do for you to grow your business then?  I close them on time, make it happen and do everything we can...but what can you see that can be done above and beyond that?  Not fair that you are the provider all the time!  Want to brainstorm here and find a spot where we can give back...

@rhett- love the personal touch!

@Evelyn- thank you for the great ideas!!! Love it and love the call capture and the breakdown of what to expect..exactly what i was looking for and will incorperate!

@kathleen  glad you ahve a relationship that has grown from tixs to personal!  Awesome!

@matt- best to you my man!  after the sale FU is HUGE! Thanks for the reminder!

Keith,

The ones I work with are the ones who are most responsive and the ones who give back! It has to work both ways. I am not looking for hand outs as far as tickets and such but more the appreciation that if I give them business, I expect the same in return. It's also important to me that we have the same work ethics and that we treat our clients like gold. Hope this helps!

Michele- it sure does! Where do their referrals come from?  I guess because I am SO involved with most of my friends involved in RE that they already have a Realtor when they are looking to buy (OR they ARE a Realtor!)  Any ideas on Mortgage Professionals generating Purchase leads? I'd hate to go buy leads but if that is what it takes then I will!

Immediate follow up and getting the deal done is most important to me!!! Some lenders that I refer business to will offer to supply lunch at a broker's or will send me an invite to a sporting event
