Agents: Are You Using Plaxo ECards?

By
Real Estate Agent with Christie's International Real Estate Sereno 01153805

Hi Active Rain,

My databas is both online and with Outlook.  With Outlook, I use Sonoma Enterprise's add on for real estate called Active Agent. It's good! And I sync with Plaxo too, which is what I want to write about today.

A cool thing about Plaxo (with the paid membership) is the ecards. I send them out for certain holidays or birthdays, and people are always delighted to get them.

Last year and this year, I sent out Plaxo ECards to my Jewish friends who were celebrating Rosh Hashahana, the Jewish New Year. (I'm Catholic, but I like to recognize others' important days.) Plaxo has about a dozen choices for the Jewish New Year, and it provides suggested wording to go with it - but you can change it too.

Every time I send these types of greetings out, whether for a religious or secular holiday, birthday or anniversary, I always get a VERY positive response. (This is especially true if I'm acknowledging a holiday that I myself don't celebrate.) The clients and friends are always so tickled that I remembered and sent good wishes for the hoiday with NO commercial message attached.

It has been a great tool for me. Are you using it? If not, let me suggest that you take a look at Plaxo and make use of the great cards that come with the subscription!

Sharing ideas - this is what Active Rain is all about!

Best wishes from Silicon Valley,

Mary

I used to use Plaxo and then stopped and I can't remember why. I get several cards a week from Plaxo as others update their cards. All I can figure is I am on an awful lot of contact lists.

Levi - you are most welcome!

William - the update cards are not the same thing as the holiday cards/thank you notes etc. If you send me your email I'll shoot you over a Plaxo ecard and you'll see what I'm talking about. (Or if you have a subscription to Plaxo, install the plaxo toolbar and the ecard link will be right there when you open outlook.)

Mary, I send all my cards individually which is VERY time consuming.  I am thrilled to hear of this and am going to look into it.  Thank you for the information.

Hayden great minds think alike! I was going to send him one too.

Carole - yeah, that is time consuming! This is pretty quick and really fast if you actually have people in groups such as "room mothers" if you were sending out a thank you card at the end of the school year. My categories are good on my website's database but not as good with Outlook. (I have had sync disasters over the years so do maintain two DBs on purpose.)

Mary:  I love the Plaxo Premium addition ... It also has a handy plug-in that synchs with LinkedIn contacts in addition to the other contacts in Outlook. It's handy when a contact changes contact information ... saves a LOT of time changing contact information!!

Ray it's not too bad - maybe $50 per year? It's not like the premium on Linked In, which is about that much per month.

Fran I have the Premium Plaxo too and love the ecards and the De-Duper a lot! I use it with both Outlook and AOL and it's amazing how organized it feels.
