Realtors and Staging Relationships

By
Home Stager with Home Staging By CC

Many of my clients contact me prior to putting their properties on the market and a majority of the time they do not have a Realtor. They want to get the property Staged before a Realtor comes in to give a Listing Presentation.

However, I have had the opportunity to work with many Realtors who also understand the importance of a property being Professionally Staged. Currently, Sara Brahm of Baird & Warner, has taken it to a new level. Offering Staging with each of her listings, and yes, she covers the Staging Fees. She has even invited me to give a presentation at a local venue...

As a Stager, building the Realtionship with Realtors is natural. I have worked with great Realtors and always blogged about them on Active Rain or on my website. Of course I still come across Realtors who don't see the necessity in hiring a Professional Stager, since they have not in the past. But, I do believe there will be a day when a majority of Realtors realize that over 60% of my clients always ask for a referral for a Realtor, and 100% of the time I give them a name. Consequently, I developing Stager/Realtor relationship is crucial and beneficial for both. What do you think??

Hi Cecilia - This is great marketing for your staging business, and really gives me an idea for taking mine to another level. Thanks for sharing this information here in AR!

Hi Cecilia.  Good points!  In our market professional staging is still the exception rather than the rule.  In fact it is relatively rare.  Nevertheless I think it is critically important for agents to consider it more often because a home will most assuredly sell faster, for a better price if someone goes to the time, trouble and expense of staging.  We always hope our clients have creative good taste but that is not the case more often than not.  The issue then becomes how to get them to buy into it without insulting them.  A slippery road for sure.
