By now most of us know what a QR Code is and many are coming up with ways to integrate this into our internet and mobile marketing campaigns. Will this make print more relevant.
If you don't know what a QR Code is here is a picture of one and it is a 2 dimensional bar code that is read by a smart phone through an app usually using the phones camera. It then automatically directs you to whatever you set the code up for.
This is a QR Code that will direct you to the communities information page of my website. The codes can direct the reader to a website, a video on the web, a picture on the web, or it could up load your business card information. These could be on your website and I have used other QR codes to automatically update an app from a website to my phone. They could be stickers on your signs or your car. You can put them on flyers and print ads in News Papers and Magazines.
Many people including myself have decided to quit doing print advertising. Ben Kinney at RainCamp said he doesn't do any post cards or other forms of print advertising (maybe flyers, not sure). Now that this QR technology is catching on - do you think print adverting will become more relevant?
